Wood orbs are a simple home decor item that is very trendy right now. Instead of actually embroidering with the floss you are just going to hot glue floss to the back edge of an embroidery hoop and wrap it around the hoop frame several times. Add different colors, change directions, and use your imagination to create a beautiful piece of fiber art. 

10 - WALL ORGANIZER 

This is a unique way to combine functional storage with your wall decor! Select two contrasting pieces of fabric about an inch larger than the circumference of the embroidery hoop. Place the small section of the embroidery hoop down first then layer the two fabrics on top of each other with the right sides facing each other. Next, fold the top fabric in half (it should be showing the right side of the fabric now) to create the pocket. Slide the larger embroidery hoop over the fabric and the bottom hoop and tighten it closed. Slip notes, pictures, or pencils into your new wall organizer.

Succulents are an inexpensive plant that you can find almost anywhere.

This beautiful display of colorful African baskets from Kelly Elko makes a great gallery wall display. The baskets don't have to be African or even colorful to make your own basket gallery wall. Keep your eyes peeled for baskets at thrift stores. Even a mix of baskets and round woven placemats would work too. The best way to hang baskets on the wall is with Command toggle hooks since they won't damage the wall or the basket.

Amazing Outdoor Patio Sets for Small Spaces

I am totally over winter but winter isn't over with us just yet. We just got 2 inches of snow this morning - I may have shed a tear or two because of this or maybe it was a snowflake melting on my cheek. My mantra these days is "Spring is coming, Spring is coming". I keep saying this to my kids but after this morning the eye rolling is getting a little more noticeable. 

With spring around the corner and cabin fever at its height shopping for new patio furniture is just what I need to see the light at the end of the dark winter tunnel. Finding the right patio set for your small space can be really tough! 

We have a long and narrow deck off the back of our house. It is a great space for entertaining however those big patio sets just won't work in our space. I think a couple of bistro sets would look cool and allow for the best use of the space. 

I'm thinking two or three sets (matching or not) with some planters between them - sort of like an outdoor restaurant seating for patrons. My husband and I could have one set and the kids could sit at the other. I might have to consider this a date! (except I'm the one cooking and cleaning up)

Our Easter tradition has changed over the years to include a celebration with friends rather than an extended family party. A couple of years ago some close friends invited us over to their house after our Easter church service to have dinner - it was a blast!

Fast forward a few years and this Easter the friend celebration continues. We've added a few more friends and have changed locations a few times but the good food, friendship and fun has remained the same.

Our kids love it too -especially since the families we invite have kids their ages and the day is filled with friends and playing. This year is no exception. We have invited five families over this year to enjoy a good meal, spend time building relationships and playing hard (praying the weather is nice!!). Did I mention that this group consists of 16 (yep) kids!!! So of course I hope the weather is sunny so they can play outside.

With one week to go before the party I'm working on planning some of the details like the table scape, menu and kids games. Today though I wanted to share with you the amazing table scape ideas I've gathered. There are just so many beautiful ways you can decorate for spring and Easter! I also want to be sensitive to the budget so most of these ideas you could totally pull off by using what you have around the house and adding a few store bought (think Dollar Store) items.

I'm sure you could really get your kids to finish all of their veggies if you promise to let them eat the chocolate bunny after they finish!

Did you notice those tin cans? I love decorating with empty (and clean) tin cans. I've used them in the past to hold silverware - one for forks, spoons and knives. To make them pretty I've even taped a piece of colorful scrap booking paper around the can which can be changed depending on the type of party (fall, summer, birthday...endless possibilities).

I actually used this similar idea at Christmas time only I used red candles to make it a Christmas theme, Any size glass bowl or vase looks lovely with split peas in them. If you want to make it more colorful you could add a ribbon or change the candle color. Definitely an easy and budget friendly idea.
